It seems that Marc Cucurella will not continue his career at Chelsea. The defender has reportedly made up his mind to leave Stamford Bridge in January 2024.
Cucurella actually recently joined Chelsea. He was recruited from Brighton in 2022 with a fairly expensive transfer fee.
So far the defender has had difficulty producing good and consistent performances in the Chelsea squad. As a result, he has now sat mostly on the bench for the Blues so far.
As reported by The Sun, Cucurella was starting to get annoyed with his condition. He is reportedly starting to make plans to leave Chelsea.
According to the report, Cucurella is determined to leave Chelsea in order to play at Euro 2024.
The defender has received a warning from the Spanish national team. If he doesn't play regularly, then he won't be brought to Germany later.
That's why Cucurella decided to leave this winter so he can play regularly.
The report claims that Cucurella has now asked his agent to find him a new club.
He initially almost moved to Manchester United last summer. However, due to one or two reasons, the agreement between the two parties fell through.
Cucurella is now moving early in looking for a new club so that the same situation does not happen again in the cold summer.
According to the same report, Chelsea will not prevent Cucurella's departure this winter.
Chelsea's stock of left-backs is still safe so far so they won't miss Cucurella's departure.
